Chad Sommers RN, CCM
Born and raised in Oklahoma City, upon graduation from Putnum City High School I enlisted in the Armed Services, spending my time in Georgia with the First Mechanized Infantry division. Once my service was completed I returned to my family and OKC where I enrolled in the Nursing program at OSU-OKC. During my education I worked as a CNA for Children’s Hospital Emergency Department. After graduation I received a full time position in Oncology at OU Medical Center where I stayed for two years before returning to the Children’s Emergency Department. I spent the next 15 years there rising to the level of Nursing Supervisor. During this period I also got married to the love of my life Carrie. Her support has been key to all the things I have accomplished. We have two wonderful children, Gweneviere Nichole who is in the last year of her law degree at OCU and Marvin John who has found a love of food and became a chef here in OKC. After leaving Children’s Hospital I continued my career at Mercy Hospital Emergency Department to broaden my adult care experience before becoming a Flight Nurse for EagleMed Flight Service. After leaving the acute care setting I moved to the clinic area where I spent 3 years as the clinic manager for Sooner Pediatrics at Children’s Physicians, overseeing a 30 bed clinic with 10 Attendings, 50 Residents and a staff of 25. I have used my skills
